CiMa-Pak approaches tray lidding film with a unique viewpoint. We make every effort to supply trays and film that are compatible. Sealing a tray with a lidding film prolongs the shelf life of the food, ensures no leaking on the way home and seals each compartment separately from the other. Lidding film is less expensive than the clear APET lids. Our representative will be happy to discuss with you the possible tray sealing film solutions to provide you with the best complete package.
Film Types: Tray sealing films have differing properties depending upon your needs, tray material and process. The most important features and properties are seal ability, peel ability, clarity and oven ability. CiMa-Pak has slitting/rewinding capabilities to offer custom roll widths.
FILMOLATH, our most popular film, is anti-fog, seals well to APET and CPET, releases from the CPET tray when heated in the microwave or conventional oven. It can withstand temperatures up to 200˚C (400˚F). Specifically designed for meal prep and ready meals as the seal remains solid in cold temperatures to -40˚C right up to the reheating of meal where the film will release from the tray for easy reheating.
FLUNIVB is our universal film, able to seal well to APET, CPET and PP trays. It is not anti-fog but its’ sealing and peeling ability is excellent in both cold and hot applications. It can go into the microwave for reheating prepared meals. It is a thicker film with barrier properties.
SPAF Film is anti-fog and is available at a lower cost than the other films. It can seal to both APET and CPET trays.
Standard widths of film rolls are 165mm, 190mm, 245mm, 280mm 400mm and 420mm. (respectively 6.5in, 7.5in, 9.6in, 11in, 15.75in, 16.5in). Standard lengths of each roll is 250m (820 feet), 450m (1475 ft) or 500m (1640 feet).
CiMa-Pak does its own slitting and rewinding of master rolls to the standard sizes and/or to sizes required by the customer.
Depending upon the tray sealing equipment, the film is either manually placed on top of the tray or the tray is automatically positioned under the film. Once in position the film will be sealed and then either straight cut or diecut around the tray.

When you have an application where your product needs a longer shelf life, or you need an elegant presentation then our CPET Food Trays are ideal. Once sealed these CPET trays are leak-proof, tamper evident and can be reheated in a microwave or conventional oven up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
