What Is Skin Packaging?

The skin packaging of foods in CPET or PP trays is a great packaging option which provides significant product advantages for retailers and end users.

Ideal for meats, smoked foods, seafood and frozen meals, skin packaging machines allow you to substantially extend the shelf life of your product by preventing the formation of ice crystals (freezer burning). It is a great alternative to standard modified atmosphere packaging (MAP, food vacuum packaging), as it retains flavor and freshness of its product for a longer period of time. The skin packaging film covering the product acts as a second skin and prevents any of its moisture from escaping. Finally, skin packaging food products will improve visual appearance, making it look fresh and irresistible to consumers.
